Health Professional Area Designation Support Services
This is a unique business line. A health professional shortage area (HPSA) is a geographic area, population group, or medical facility that has been designated by the Secretary of the Department of Health and Human Services as having a shortage of health professionals. There are HPSAs for primary health care (shortage of primary health care clinicians), dental health (shortage of dental health professionals), and mental health (shortage of mental health professionals). HPSAs are assigned a numerical score based on the level of need.
Why Is HPSA Designation Important?
More than 34 federal programs depend on the shortage designation to determine eligibility or as a funding preference.
How can H.O.P.E. Assist?
Using data available from National, State, and local sources and based upon the criteria in Authority: Sec. 215 of the Public Health Service Act, 58 Stat. 690 (42 U.S.C. 216); sec. 332 of the Public Health Service Act, 90 Stat. 2270 - 2272 (42 U.S.C. 254e). Source: 45 FR 76000, Nov. 17, 1980. HO.P.E. analyzes HPSA relevant data and conducts telephonic and e-commerce surveys. Once these tasks are complete, HOPE creates a HPSA Designation Application packet ready for submission to state and Federal authorities.
Health Care Facility and Provider Database Development and Maintenance
H.O.P.E.’s public health analyst conducts telephone and web based surveys of clinicians and medical facilities. These data are compiled to form a Health Care Facility and Provider database that offers addresses, phone numbers, administrator names and state registration or licensure status for health care providers. Federal certification classifications are also included. Provider types in the directory are boarding care homes, home health agencies, home care providers, hospices, hospitals, housing with services, nursing homes and supervised living facilities and other non-long term care providers. Providers can then be selected by name, type, or geographic location.
Call Center Management and Administration
H.O.P.E. provides consulting, technology integration, outsourcing, and training solutions to support call center operations. Our methodologies position access to information at the forefront of all call center interactions, thus allowing call center advisors immediate access to information from anywhere and the ability to document, record, and access scheduling. These actions functionally improve customer service and satisfy any and all documentation requirements.
